Overview

AT Career Maker is an AI-powered career intelligence platform designed to help students, fresh graduates, and professionals understand where they stand in today's job market. Instead of simply suggesting careers or generating resumes, the platform analyzes a user's profile, identifies missing skills, and generates structured guidance to help them progress toward their desired role.

The project focuses on transforming career planning into a clear, data-driven workflow. By combining artificial intelligence with structured analysis, AT Career Maker helps users understand not only what they should learn, but also why those skills matter and how they contribute to long-term career growth.

Problem

Many people struggle with career uncertainty despite having access to countless online learning resources. Students often complete courses without understanding whether those skills align with industry expectations, while job seekers repeatedly face rejection without knowing which areas need improvement.

Most existing career tools provide generic recommendations or keyword-based resume analysis, leaving users without a clear roadmap for improvement. This creates confusion, wasted learning effort, and difficulty making informed career decisions.

Solution

AT Career Maker addresses this challenge by analyzing user profiles, resumes, educational backgrounds, and career goals to generate personalized insights. Rather than producing generic advice, the platform identifies skill gaps, evaluates readiness for target roles, and creates structured learning roadmaps that help users progress step by step.

The system combines AI-powered analysis with organized dashboards, progress tracking, and actionable recommendations, making career development easier to understand and follow.

User Experience

The platform guides users through a simple workflow that begins with profile creation or resume upload. Once the information is processed, users receive an interactive dashboard highlighting their strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.

Each recommendation is presented with clear explanations rather than technical AI outputs, making the platform approachable for users at different experience levels. Visual dashboards, comparison tools, and structured career paths help users focus on continuous improvement instead of feeling overwhelmed.

The overall experience is designed to replace uncertainty with clarity and actionable direction.

Architecture & Development

AT Career Maker is built using Next.js and TypeScript, with Supabase providing authentication, database management, and backend infrastructure. Gemini AI powers intelligent profile analysis and recommendation generation, while Tailwind CSS delivers a responsive and modern interface.

The application follows a modular architecture where profile analysis, AI workflows, dashboard components, authentication, and reporting systems operate independently. This structure improves maintainability while allowing new analytical features to be added without affecting the existing platform.

The system is designed with scalability in mind, enabling future expansion into additional career planning and recruitment workflows.

Challenges & Iterations

One of the biggest challenges was presenting AI-generated insights in a way that users could easily understand and trust. Instead of displaying complex model outputs, the platform translates analysis into practical recommendations supported by structured visualizations.

Another challenge involved balancing flexibility with consistency. Career development differs significantly between industries, making it important to build workflows that remain useful across multiple career paths without becoming overly generic.

Several design iterations focused on simplifying dashboards, improving recommendation clarity, and organizing information into a logical progression that users could confidently follow.

Results & Impact

AT Career Maker transforms career guidance into an interactive and personalized experience. Rather than providing isolated recommendations, the platform creates a structured ecosystem where users can continuously evaluate their progress, identify missing skills, and make informed learning decisions.

The project demonstrates full-stack development, AI integration, dashboard design, authentication systems, and product thinking while solving a practical problem faced by students and professionals alike.

It highlights how artificial intelligence can support career development by providing meaningful guidance instead of replacing human decision-making.

What I Learned

Building AT Career Maker strengthened my understanding of AI-assisted decision systems, full-stack web development, authentication workflows, dashboard architecture, user research, and product design for educational and professional applications.

The project also reinforced the importance of presenting complex AI analysis in a simple, transparent, and actionable format that users can trust and understand.

Future Roadmap

Future versions of AT Career Maker will introduce interview preparation modules, resume optimization, job matching, portfolio analysis, certification recommendations, collaborative mentoring, recruiter dashboards, application tracking, industry trend analysis, and personalized learning pathways.

The long-term vision is to evolve AT Career Maker into a comprehensive career development platform that helps individuals plan, build, and continuously improve their professional journey through intelligent guidance and structured learning.

Note :

AT Career Maker is an independent portfolio project created for learning, experimentation, and product development. AI-generated recommendations are intended to support career planning and should complement professional guidance and real-world hiring practices.
